Call a Professional

The first thing you want to do when your AC goes out is to call a professional like TNC Mechanical . Once we arrive, we should be able to fix it within a few days or less in many cases. You definitely don’t want to delay on this step. Having no air conditioning is not only uncomfortable, but it may also be a health and safety concern. If you’re hesitant to call due to expenses, be sure to talk with them about financing options. Most will be willing to work with you and serve your needs.

Promote Air Circulation

If the AC isn’t working, while you won’t be able to replicate it using DIY solutions, they can help. Be sure to turn on all fans and add some additional fans in the areas that need it.  You can also add something cold in front of the fans such as a bucket of ice. This will make the air colder and make the effects of using the fans stronger than it otherwise would be. In addition, you can also create a crosswind through your windows by having one fan facing outwards to push the hot air out and one fan facing inwards to push cool air in. It’s only recommended you do this in the evening, however, because the sun will make the heat much worse if you leave the windows open.

Cut Out Passive Heat Sources

Passive heat sources can raise the temperature, making the lack of air conditioning even more unbearable. These passive heat sources include stoves, hot showers, lights, and electronics, just as some examples. Limit these as much as possible to decrease the heat.
